Blind or Low Vision
West Central Joint Services Special Education Cooperative provides support to students with disabilities. One of the areas in which West Central Joint Services provides services is to students who are Blind or Low Vision. Students within the cooperative who are visually impaired are typically served in their respective home school corporation and follow the curriculum guidelines set forth by that corporation. West Central Joint Services employs teachers certified to work with students with vision impairments. Their services may include: instruction in the use of optical aids and assistive technology, functional literacy and/or Braille instruction, providing students with accessible materials, classroom accommodations, orientation and mobility instruction, and consultation services.
