Aaron Kroll - Varsity Head Coach

After graduating from Burlington High School in Burlington, Iowa in 1998, Coach Kroll attended Coe College where he earned his Bachelor's degree in education. He also played four years of baseball as a 1st baseman and pitcher. During college he also spent time as an assistant coach for two years at Notre Dame High School and one year as the freshman baseball coach at Cedar Rapids Prairie High School.

Coach Kroll moved to Arizona after college and became the head baseball coach at Parker High School. He also spent two years as an assistant coach with the semi-pro team Havasu Heat. Coach Kroll lives in Indianapolis with his wife Brooke, his son Griffin, and his daughter Kamryn. He is entering his 4th season as Varsity head coach.

Kyle Pfister - Varsity Assistant Coach

Coach Pfister graduated from Huntington North (Indiana) High School in 2000, where he played baseball for the Vikings. He attended IUPUI for a year and then transferred to Indiana University, graduating in 2005.

Coach Pfister has been involved with the Ben Davis Baseball Program for the past 6 years. This is his 4th year on the varsity coaching staff. He has coached at the high school level for the past 7 years.

Aside from coaching baseball, Coach Pfister teaches in the special education department at Ben Davis.

Kyle Cox - JV Head Coach

Coach Cox graduated from Ben Davis High School in 2005. He played three years for the Giants as an outfielder and also lettered three times in football. Following high school, he played two seasons at Butler University. After two years, he transferred and played two seasons at Marian University. Coach Cox graduated from Marian in May 2010 with an English degree.

This is his first season coaching as part of the Ben Davis program. Aside from baseball, Coach Cox works as a substitute teacher and is currently looking for a teaching job for the fall of 2011.

Jay Hundley - Freshman Head Coach

Jay Hundley was born and raised in Indianapolis and currently resides in Avon Indiana..He owns and operates Extreme Concrete Cutting. Coach Hundley has had an active role in Ben Davis Youth Baseball over the past 6 years.. He coached the 11 and 12 year old team to back to back State Finals. His roles have included Vice President, Chief Umpire, and organizing the Ben Davis fall ball league for the past 4 years. He also is the Head Coach for the 13U Indiana Outlaws. Coach Hundley attended and graduated from Ben Davis in 1997. This will be Coach Hundley's first year as the freshman head coach.

Brandon Burton - Freshmen Assistant Coach

Coach Burton graduated from Ben Davis in 2009. He played 4 years for the Giants as a catcher and 3rd baseman. Coach Burton currently attends IUPUI with plans of graduating in 2013 with a degree in criminal justice.

Jamie Nanny - Freshman Assistant Coach

After graduating from Ben Davis High School in 1991, Coach Nanny attended Ball State University, where he earned his bachelors degree in Accounting in 1995. Since then, Coach Nanny has been involved with coaching youth teams in various sports over the last 7 years. Coach Nanny played varsity soccer at Ben Davis and continued to play collegiate soccer at Ball State. This will be his first year as the freshman assistant coach.

Dave Bear - Pitching Coach

After graduating from Ben Davis High School in 1981, Coach Bear played 7 years in the St. Louis Cardinals organization. He also played on the 1981 Ben Davis state championship baseball team.

This is Coach Bear's second stint coaching at Ben Davis. He previously coached at the school from 1997-2001 and the Giants shared the MIC title twice in that span.

Coach Bear enjoys playing golf and softball. Coach Bear also has two kids; Coy and Cassie, and two dogs; AJ and Buster.
