2013 Coaching Staff
Demetrius Dowler went to high school here at Ben Davis where he played football, baseball, basketball for 1 year, and wrestled for 2 years. He was a part of the first and second football state championships here at Ben Davis.
Dowler graduated from Indiana State University in 1996 with a bachelor's degree in Mathematics Education and from Olivet Nazzerene in 2006 with a Master's in Education.
Drafted by the Chicago Cubs in 1993, he went on to play 5 years of professional baseball before becoming a Math teacher.
This is his fifteenth year as a Pre-Calculus/Geometry/AVID teacher. He was an assistant high school basketball coach for ten years for a team that won two state championships (One of which was also a National Championship). It's his fifth year as the head softball coach (Record 81-34). Demitrius and his wife Holly have a daughter named Hunter and a son named Jacoby.

Scott Morrow went to high school at Ben Davis where he played football for four years and was a part of the 2001 and 2002 back-to-back football state championship teams.
After high school Morrow graduated from Anderson University in 2009 with a bachelors of Arts in Secondary Education: Social Studies. At Anderson University Scott was a two year athletic letter winner in football.
After college Scott and his wife Eryn moved to Savannah, Georgia where his wife attended graduate school and he taught and coached football for two years. In 2011, Scott and his wife moved back to Indianapolis where he teaches Economics and U.S. History at Ben Davis High School.
Kent Spillman is a 1986 graduate of Ben Davis, where he played baseball for three years and is a two time State Champion with the Ben Davis Marching Giants. After graduation he went to serve our country in the U. S. Air Force for eleven and a half years. While in in the Air Force Coach Spillman traveled across Europe playing fast-pitch softball for his base travel team for two years. Upon returning to the states he spent eight years traveling the southwest playing softball for Tyndall Air Force Base, Panama City Florida.
Coach Spillman returned to Indiana in 1998 and since then both of his children have graduated from Ben Davis (Alyssa 2010 & Justin 2012). When he is not coaching the Lady Giants you will find him behind either a high school or junior high baseball home plate, he is an IHSAA baseball umpire. Also Coach Spillman has been a BD Dad for 7 years.
Coach Spillman is so honored to start his 3rd season with the Lady Giants and he is blessed to be married to his lovely wife Mendi for 23 years in February.
Danny Kollada is returning for his third season with the Lady Giants. He has been teaching for six years and has been with the Ben Davis Math Department for four years. He is currently teaching both Algebra I and II. Coach Kollada graduated from Purdue University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Education. In high school, he played football and baseball for the Highland Trojans.
Coach Kollada enjoys spending his free time with his wife Erin and their dog Leo. Kollada is also highly ranked on Playstation 3 Tetris.

Bob Lewis attended Highland High School in Highland, IN where he played varsity soccer, football, basketball and baseball. During his career, Bob received 11 varsity athletic awards as well as Academic All-State in each sport he played.
Lewis graduated from Wabash College in 2006 with a B.A. in Psychology and Education. He is a member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity and played Varsity Baseball for three seasons until stepping down from the team to complete his student teaching in the Spring of 2006.
This is his seventh year as a member of the Ben Davis High School Social Studies Department where he has taught Geography, Government, History, Current Events, and International Baccalaureate History of the Americas. Lewis' past coaching experiences include Head Freshman Baseball Coach of Tri-West High School (2006) as well as Head Junior Varsity and Head Boys Soccer Coach respectively for Ben Davis High School (2007-2009). Bob and his wife Jenny have two amazing sons named Jacob and Joshua.
Scott George started working at Ben Davis in 2008 as a paraprofessional in the inclusion department after serving 14 years in the Navy. He is also an assistant coach for the boys basketball team at BD having completed his fourth season.
Coach George is a '93 Ben Davis graduaate where he was a member of the Giant Basketball team, and a three year letter winner on Dave Brown's Giant baseball team. Coach George is a graduate of Columbia College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology in Human Behavoir.
