Ben Davis Artist Network (Formerly National Art Honor Society)	The purpose of the Ben Davis Artist Network is to connect serious art students from all programs across the department as well as Ben Davis Art Department alumni. BD Buddies	Facilitates friendships between a general education student and a student with special needs. Club meets monthly, but peer buddies are expected to communicate with their buddy on a weekly basis.	Mrs. Pfister Ms. Craven

BDHS ASL Club	This club promotes the linguistic use of ASL and Deaf Culture. This club focuses on advocacy, awareness and social issues and events. Ability to sign preferred but not required.	Mrs. Cain
Ben Davis Poets Society	Ben Davis Poets Society is a group for enthusiasts of poetry and other creative writing to come together after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays to celebrate emotions, creativity, expression, truth and passion through the written word.	Mr. Oden
Chemistry Club	The Chemistry Club meets once a month to repeat favorite labs and explore topics of interest. Club members make glupe, slime, tie-dye shirts, play with cornstarch and watch you-tube chemistry videos.	Mrs. York
Chess Club	For those students interested in learning or improving chess playing skills. For those interested in competition, there is also a chess team. Club meets Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays after school from 3:15pm to 5:15pm in D104. The Chess Club and Chess Team are open to everyone. There is no charge for participation. Ethnic Food Club	Is your family in a rut when it comes to going out to eat? Do they always go to the same old restaurants? Does your palette want to try new foods? The Ethnic Food Club is for you. We will get together once a month and go out to eat at one of Indianapolis’ ethnic restaurants. What better way to try new foods. We will discuss proper table etiquette and tipping percentages. Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA)	Everyone is welcome to attend FCA meetings every Friday morning at 6:45 a.m. in the choir room. Ben Davis High School continues the tradition of always having a “strong huddle.” This is about faith, fellowship and fun. This club is not restricted to athletes.	Mr. Goins Mrs. Schmitt
FFA	FFA is a dynamic youth organization that is a part of agricultural education programs at middle and high schools. Today, student members are engaged in a wide range of curriculum and FFA activities, leading to over 300 career opportunities in agriculture.	Mr. White
French Club	The purpose of the Ben Davis High School French Club is to provide a fun environment to encourage the learning of French and to stimulate interest in Francophone cultures. Also, we will organize on-campus as well as off-campus activities and attend special extra curricular events related to the French language and Francophone cultures. Open to students taking French. Future Educators of America	The Future Educators Association is for any and all students interested in the education field with an emphasis on teaching. We will meet approximately once a month. The goal of FEA is to provide personal growth opportunities through recognition and leadership activities directly related to the education profession.	Miss Wilson
German Club	The club meets approximately 6-7 times a year. Activities include visiting Café Heidelberg, attending Staatskongress at Ball State U, a Christmas party, German Students’ Night at the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, German Movie and Brezeln (Pretzels) evening, Kaffeeklatsch (coffee talk), Spielabend (games evening), and fundraising for club members to study abroad. In the past we’ve also had a bonfire/cook-out at Martha’s Orchard and participated in a soccer tournament against the other foreign language clubs. All students currently or previously enrolled in German are welcome to join the club. Others with an interest in German language or culture are also welcome. Girls For Change (GFC)	Girls for Change (GFC) is a national organization that empowers thousands of teen girls to create and lead social change. GFC provides girls with professional female role models, leadership training and the inspiration to work together in teams to solve persistent societal problems in their communities. Girls to Women	An after school group for African-American junior and senior girls promoting academic achievement, positive self-image, community service, and preparation for the future. Students will also hear motivational speakers and attend relevant field trips to foster growth in these areas.	Mrs. Hicks Ms. Shaw
Graduation Coach	The Graduation Coach participants meet with an outside mentor from our Business Community twice a month, one hour each time. The ratio usually falls with a group of 8-10 students with two mentors per group. In these sessions, the mentors discuss various topics from a written Curriculum given to them by Junior Achievement. Topics: College Prep, study skills, organization skills, test taking skills, time management skills, etc.	Mrs. Williams
Graphic Novels Club (Manga)	Student-led club wherein students may read, share and swap graphic novels or read on-line graphic novels. All students are welcome.	Mrs. Hicks-Brooks
GSA (Gay/Straight Alliance)	A club to promote tolerance, diversity and understanding. The purpose of the club is to educate students and staff within the club environment about GLBTQ (gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered, questioning) issues and to create a comfortable and safe environment for students. This is a platonic club, and because of the sensitivity of certain issues, it can be anonymous. People can share their personal experiences as well as their misconceptions	Ms. Owens
High Performance Club	This club meets once a week to work on High Performance Automotive Systems. This club is to help students gain knowledge of the High Performance Industry. You must be a Junior or Senior and have a B or higher in the Auto Service Class to join.	Danny Camden
Key Club	An international student service organization open to all BDHS students with a desire to help others. Provides service, builds character, and develops leadership. Key Club meets two Mondays each month after school and has annual dues of $13.	Mrs. Turchyn Ms. Eagan

Purple Rain	Purple Rain is a group of students from 9-12th grade who will come together to increase school spirit. As a group we will discuss ways to bring school spirit back into our school. We will try to attend athletic events when possible as well as other functions. We will have weekly/biweekly meetings.	Mrs. Bonanno
Reading Counts Incentive Program	Reading incentive program that offers movie tickets for reading 5 books and passing a test on each book. End of the year grand prize is awarded for the most books passed. Open to all students.	Mrs. Hicks-Brooks
Revolve Club...For Girls Only	The purpose of this club is to encourage girls to build healthy relationships, self-esteem and to have positive self-image. This is a place to address relevant issues that girls have. That they don’t have to let the world tell them who they are. An environment is provided where each girls is understood and cared for. Students listen to music, watch videos, share personal stories, eat, chat, etc.	Mrs. Theobald
Scrapbooking	All scrapbooking enthusiasts welcome. Club meets the first Thursday of each month. Project ideas are supplied. Bring photos to work with or pages that need to be finished.	Ms. Garten
Spanish Club	For students enrolled in Spanish who have an interest in the Spanish language and culture. Club members volunteer once a month at Crestwood Retirement Center to teach Spanish to the elderly. A spring trip is planned, but not sure where yet.	Mr. Tuxhorn
S.T.A.M.P	Bullying has drawn national attention in many high schools across our nation. Bullying has been seen right here in our own hallways and classrooms in Wayne Township. Bullying can be seen in many forms such as, prejudices against race, sexuality, cultural background, and religion. With this focus we are hoping that students stand up for others and speak out against such acts. This club will help bring attention to bullying prevention ideas and awareness to all students here at Ben Davis High School. The club members will organize a STAMP out Bullying Week in the fall and also in the spring. During STAMP out week, club members will help students recognize the issues surrounding bullying type acts occurring in our school and provide information on how to prevent such acts. Each year we will have a STAMP Committee who will also share information about Bullying to other schools in Wayne Township.	Ms. Bugay
Student Voice (part of Student Council)	A panel of students made up of representatives of all the interested clubs in order to hold town hall meetings for all students to come express concerns or ideas. This club is an offshoot of Student Council.	Mr. Clodfelter
United Voice	This linguistically and culturally diverse club is open to all students and has an academic focus of helping students prepare for college. A $10 membership fee is charged.	Ms. Sacks Mrs. Lenard
