Graduation Requirements
The requirements for graduation from high school as established by the Indiana Department of Education and the Metropolitan School District of Wayne Township’s Board of Education include:
- A student shall complete 45 credits of high school work. The 45 credits must include 28 credits of required work and 17 credits of electives.
- Students must attend seven semesters in grades 9-10-11-12.
- The student must pass the required portions of ISTEP, Indiana’s Graduation Qualifying Examination (GQE) to receive a diploma.
- Students typically earn a maximum of 8 credits each semester. Credit deficient students may be given alternative opportunities to earn additional credit as needed.
- Students are generally expected to graduate with their originating class. Students who fail to do so will be evaluated and a further educational plan will be determined.
- Course requirements must be met.

- Vincennes University Associates Degree
Commencement exercises will be held in May/June. Students who complete their academic requirements in January will receive their diploma in May/June and may participate in the May/June commencement exercises.
The diploma is a legal document with the complete birth-certificate name.
