Meet the Designers

The 2012-2013 web designers are students at Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis, Indiana, in a class called Information Technology: Interactive Media (Web Page Design). All students have taken Computer Applications 1 prior to this course. Four seniors return from last year's class. These four returnees maintain all Wayne Township pages for the first seven-eight weeks of the fall semester while the first-year web designers are trained to design web pages. The information below will provide you with more information about each web designer. The designers meet daily for two hours of class.

Alyssa B.-- My name is Alyssa and I’m 18 years old. I’m a senior this year and I plan on going to the University of Southern Indiana or Indiana University next year. In my free time I play video games or computer games. My favorite type of video games is RPGs, but I’ll play any game if someone tells me it’s worth it. My favorite PC game is probably Diablo III, and my favorite RPG is Skyrim. I really like talking on Skype to different people and meeting people from other countries on online games. My favorite past time when I’m not playing video games is probably reading. I like fiction books the best, especially mysteries and comedies. I’m currently in charge of the Westlake, Wayne Township Education Foundation, Ben Davis Bands, Senior Class, and Girls Basketball sections of our web site. My favorite part of Web Design is working in Photoshop and Dreamweaver. I like being able to manipulate pictures and I really enjoy writing code and making web pages look the way I want them.

Angelica N.-- I’m a junior and this is my first year in web design. I’ve been interested in web design for a while now, mainly because I like to keep busy – I’m in Brain Game, Battle of the Books, BPA, and theatre – and I like to try new things (such as when I joined last year’s bowling team and jewelry club, despite the fact that I’m not a bowler or a jeweler). I’m in charge of girls bowling, girls tennis, theatre troupe, Human Resources, and Bridgeport Elementary School.

Ben S.-- I am currently a junior at Ben Davis High School. I’m involved in Key club, Business Professionals of America, and Debate club. For the most part, I enjoy being involved and keeping myself busy. My hobbies outside of school are playing basketball, getting on the computer, practicing for debate, and work. I am in charge of Chapelwood Elementary, Speech/Debate, the Science Department, and the Student Services Department.

Cantrel C. — I am currently a senior here at Ben Davis High School. My accumulated GPA is a 4.04. I currently have a part-time job at AMC Traders Point 12 and have a part-time paid internship at Eli Lilly through the help of the Business Co-op program. When I graduate, I will receive my Academic Honors and Technical Honors Diploma. When I graduate high school, I plan to enroll into IU Bloomington and major in Business and minor in Marketing. My hobbies consist of earning money, hanging out with friends, and traveling.

Cavonte J.-- I'm a 16 year old junior and this is my first year at Ben Davis High School. This is my first year as a web designer and I've learned a lot so far. I plan to go to college and major in computer repair. My hobbies are working out, playing video games, playing football and basketball, and hanging out with friends. I'm in charge of Ben Davis Extended Day, EL Department, P.E.P, Wayne Township Retired Teachers Association, and West Central Joint Services.

Corey R.-- I’m a 17 year old that likes to build and repair computers. I also plan to go to college and get my bachelors in computer engineering. In my spare time I like playing Call of Duty Black Ops 2 on my Ps3 and hanging with my friends. The thing I love most in Web Design is the fact that we are managing a massive website on a daily basis. I am in charge of BDUHS, Ben Davis Choir, Health and PE Department, Girls Soccer, and Volleyball on the website.

Dewayne W. -- I am a junior and this is my first year in web design. Food is my motto & video games are my passion. I’ve been a part of Deca, Junior Honor Society, & Business Professionals of America. My plan is to go to USC (University of Southern California) and major in Interactive media with a minor in video game design. My long term goal is to work for Bethesda or Square Enix after college. I’m in charge of Legallery, Rhoades Elementary, Deca, Spirit Shop, & the Adult Career and Technical Education.

Diego H.-- I’m 18 years old and a senior at Avon High School. This is my first year of Web Page Design. I’m also a member of the Ben Davis BPA and proud to be. I enjoy playing video games (Resident Evil and Dead Space mostly) and hang out with some friends from time to time. I attended Pike Township from 3rd to 9th grade then have attended Avon High School from 10th to now 12th. I attended Pike’s JROTC for the Navy. I want to go to the Art Institute of Indianapolis or IUPUI for Interactive Media and Game Design. The career I want to pursue is being a game designer for a well-known gaming company. Updating web pages is a lot of work but I enjoy the challenge. I’m in charge of the BD Clinic, ESEC, BD International Baccalaureate, the Language Assistance Program, and BD ROTC.

Elijah C.--I’m a 17 year old student and I’m a senior in Ben Davis High School. This will be my second year in Web Design and this is the only class I really enjoy the most. I also play football for Ben Davis. I usually stay after school to work on homework and projects. Outside of school I usually play videogames, watch TV, and do projects on the computer. For college I’m either going to Vincennes University or the Art Institute of Indianapolis. I’m in charge of five websites: Ben Davis Ninth Grade Center, Football, , English Department, Key Club, and Alumni.

Erin D.-- I am currently 17 years old and a transfer student from Avon High School. This is my second year of Web Page Design. I am a very fast learner when it comes to computers so that’s why I decided to take this class. I really enjoy technology, so this class suits me well. I enjoy creating art, reading, playing video games, and hanging out with my friends. I plan on going to Ivy Tech after high school to major in web page design and minor in business. I am in charge of the Achieve Virtual Educationr, Girls Cross Country, Maplewood, WBDG and the BPA Club.

Jason B.-- I’m an 18 years old and a senior from Mooresville High School. I attend the Career Center at Ben Davis and it’s awesome. I enjoy anything that deals with computers so when I saw this opportunity arise I had to jump for it. It’s a great feeling when I finish an assignment for a webpage and say, “I made that.” I am skilled in manipulating photos with Adobe Photoshop CS6 which has served me well in class. I plan on going to college for Computer Science. I eventually want to pursue my dream with the gaming industry and start designing games. I am in charge of Boys Basketball, Mudslingers Club, Chapel Glen, Arts Alive, and Food Services.

Jon L. -- I’m a 18 year old that loves computers. I also plan to go to college and get my bachelors in computer science. In my spare time I like to think of ways to improve the programs I make in my AP Computer Science class and hang out with my friends. The thing I love most in Web Design is the fact that we are managing a massive website. I am in charge of the Ben Davis Technology Support Department, Ben Davis Boys Track and Garden City Elementary.
