LANGUAGE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (LAP)
The Language Assistance Program (LAP) supports language minority students and their families transition successfully into academic studies in Wayne Township. The program follows state and federal guidelines in servicing students that are Limited English Proficient and provides families with guidance on how to support their students as they progress in the language acquisition process.
Students that are identified will be evaluated to determine their eligibility for services. LAP services consist of a broad range of options:

- Participation in small group instruction by a certified English as a Second Language teacher to increase your child's English proficiency and knowledge of the academic content
- Use of native language support when possible
- Modifications to classroom assignments and assessments
- Translation and/or interpretation services
- More advanced students can work with LAP staff for resources help as needed
