Read 180

Read 180 is a comprehensive reading intervention program designed to meet the individual needs of students. Using a self-guided computer software program at the students' reading level, Read 180 addresses each student's weaknesses. Students read novels at their own reading level and are tested on their comprehension. In addition, the format of the class allows for individual reading time, daily computer use and small group instruction. Each Read 180 classroom is equipped with 7 computers with interactive software and a classroom library of over 80 high-interest books at various reading levels. The students' progress is monitored and assesses regularly to help set individual goals. The program reinforces the fundamentals of reading comprehension, fluency, spelling and vocabulary. The structure of the course allows teachers to meet students where they are and assist them in meeting grade level standards.
