Mr. Eaton - Principal

Derek Eaton is Principal of Achieve Virtual Education Academy. He was previously an administrator at Ben Davis High School, serving as dean of students, assistant principal over student life and the Extended Day Program and the Extended Day coordinator where he gained much of his knowledge of virtual education. Prior to becoming an administrator he taught biology, chemistry and anatomy at Mooresville High School and general science at the former Ben Davis Junior High School. Mr. Eaton is a graduate of Ben Davis High School class of ’97, and earned his bachelor’s degree from Indiana University-Bloomington (Go Hoosiers!) and his masters’ degree in educational administration from Butler University (Go Bulldogs!). He and his wife, Amy, are proud parents of a daughter born on New Year’s Eve 2008 and a black Labrador named Maggie. He welcomes you to Achieve Virtual Education Academy!
