Community Preschool classes are taught by licensed teachers. There is a teacher and paraprofessional in each class of 16-20 students. Enrollment in a morning or afternoon session of Community Preschool is $70 per week.
Some 4 year old students may be selected to serve as Peer Friends in Developmental Preschool classes. These classrooms are designed primarily for students with special needs, but utilize peer friends to encourage social and language development. A screening will be conducted before a child is selected as a Peer Friend. Enrollment as a Peer Friend in a morning or afternoon session of Developmental Preschool is $30 per week.
Transportation is available for $5.00 per week for children who participate in a morning or afternoon preschool session on a limited availability basis.
Wayne Township Preschool offers age-based, high quality childcare for children age 3 to 5 from 6:30 am to 6:00 pm.
If a child participates in an AM or PM preschool session plus childcare, the fee is $150 per week.
Wayne Township Preschool accepts Child Care Development Fund (CCDF) vouchers.
Wayne Township Preschool evaluates children ages 3-5 with suspected learning problems or disabilities. Parents with concerns about their child’s skills or functioning level should contact Wayne Township Preschool at 988-7900 to initiate an evaluation. Once the evaluation is completed, a case conference meeting will be held to review the evaluation results. If your child is determined eligible for special education, goals will be developed and services provided to address those goals.
