Donors Choose Grants
WAYNE TOWNSHIP EDUCATION FOUNDATION DOUBLES ITS IMPACT THROUGH DONORSCHOOSE.ORG
The Wayne Township Education Foundation is excited to announce its new partnership with DonorsChoose.Org. Through DonorsChoose.Org, it's the Foundation's intent to double our impact by doubling the number of grants $450 or less that are funded each year. With the launch of this program, the Foundation will no longer be doing monthly Donors Choose Grants; however, we will continue to host our Traditional Grants Process three times a year. The Fast Track program has exploded and over the course of three years we have nearly quadrupled the number of grant requests we receive. It is our intent that through our partnership with DonorsChoose.Org, we will be able to expedite and maximize funding for requests up to $450.
DonorsChoose.Org uses the power of individual donors, as well as corporate partners to fund individual teacher requests. Teachers submit a request for specific materials online. Donors from across the country browse the website and fund the projects they find most compelling. Most projects $400 or less are funded within 2 months. The grant-writing process is even simpler than our current Fast Track process, plus it's online so you can do it anywhere, anytime.
Many teachers throughout the district use DonorsChoose.Org already. Starting in July for all Wayne Township online requests up to $450 (with the exception of student incentives and after-school athletics), the Wayne Township Education Foundation will automatically fund half of these. And you don't have to wait until July to put your request online. Based on history, these types of requests will likely be funded within 2 months. DonorsChoose.Org offers excellent teacher support, as well as wonderful tutorials and grant-writing incentives. And, for teachers wary of a new process, the Foundation will be happy to help or find you help. We want to ensure that, regardless of your technical abilities, all teachers who have a great idea have the opportunity to submit.
