GREAT SCHOOLS. GREAT COMMUNITY.
WE ARE WAYNE!
“We Are Wayne” is more than a tagline. It’s a bragging right, a rallying cry that echoes through our hallways, classrooms, and community.
It’s an invitation - whether you’re a student, a teacher, a parent, or community member - to step into your greatness and experience the power of belonging, collaboration, and growth.
I AM WAYNE
Mrs. Angela Brown
Assistant Principal, Chapelwood Elementary
As a Kindergarten student at Chapelwood Elementary, I dreamed of being a teacher. While at Ben Davis High School, I cadet-taught at Chapelwood. I returned to Chapelwood after college to pursue that dream and taught Kindergarten for 16 years. Three years ago, I became the Assistant Principal. At Chapelwood, our motto is "Leveling Up." Every day, we level up in joy, love, fellowship, appreciation, grace, and support. As a leader in the building, I level up by helping ALL students and staff level up! This is my passion!
John Christianson
Math Teacher, Ben Davis University High School
I'm proud to teach in Wayne because I make a difference to students every day. It is not about me teaching math, but about showing students what they can achieve.
Susan Carter
6th Grade Math Teacher, McClelland Elementary
I'm proud to teach in Wayne because it is home to me. I attended Chapel Glen from 1st Grade through 6th Grade and then Fulton Jr. High and Ben Davis High School. As a lifelong Giant, coming home to Wayne after 27 years of teaching elsewhere, just feels right. I am proud to be Purple again and am already loving being at McClelland Elementary with the best staff and students anywhere!
Justin Price
Special Education Teacher, Rhoades Elementary
Diversity is our greatest strength because it gives us the opportunity to learn something from someone else. We all bring something different and valuable to the table. Maya Angelou said it best, 'We all should know that diversity makes for a rich tapestry, and we must understand that all the threads of the tapestry are equal in value no matter what their color.'
Evan Cline
6th Grade Student, McClelland Elementary
My school is great because I like science!
Terry Sparks
Social Studies Teacher, Lynhurst 7th & 8th Grade Teacher
Our community is important because it brings together people with different experiences, languages and cultures for the common goal of educating tomorrow's leaders today.
