HOSTS (Help One Student To Succeed)

Mentors work one-to-one with two students in grades 3 and 4 for 30 minutes each, using easy-to-follow lesson plans prepared by the HOSTS staff that target specific reading skills. Mentors simply carry out the instructions for the day. The only qualification needed is the desire to help a student.

  • Mentors commit to one hour per week and teams of two or more can alternate weeks.
  • Various mentoring times from 8AM until 2PM Monday - Friday are available.
  • A short training session will familiarize you with the HOSTS program and explain your role as a mentor.
  • HOSTS is in session from September to May.

Why mentor?

An hour of your week provides the one-to-one attention that helps a student to succeed.
