At Wayne Township, we are committed to ensuring all students have access to safe and nutritious meals. We understand that some students may have special dietary needs or allergies that require accommodations.
Understanding Our Accommodation Process
Wayne Township adheres to USDA guidelines in providing special diet accommodations for students. We accommodate students who are unable to eat standard school meals due to a disability, medical need, or impairment at no additional charge.
While we strive to accommodate lifestyle and religious dietary needs through our current menu choices, these are not required accommodations under USDA regulations.
Steps to Request Special Dietary Accommodations:
- Complete the Special Dietary Needs Medical Statement Form
- Submit the form to our district staff dietitian Amanda Lyons, RD, at the Child Nutrition Office, located at 1155 S. High School Road, Indianapolis, (Enter Door 1), or by email at amanda.lyons@wayne.k12.in.us.
- Our team will review and process your request
- We may contact you for additional medical information if needed
- Once approved, we will adjust accommodations accordingly
Important Note: If substitutions fall outside the USDA meal pattern, the form must be signed by an authorized medical authority with prescriptive privileges in Indiana.
