Out Of District Enrollment

Our application window for the 2025-2026 school year opens on Monday, March 3, 2025 and closes on Friday, May 2, 2025 at 4:00 p.m.

• Application Deadline:
  • Online applications must be submitted by Friday, May 2, 2025 by 4:00 p.m.
  • Paper applications must be received by Friday, May 2, 2025 by 4:00 p.m.
  • Mailed (US Post Office) applications mush be postmarked by Friday, May 2, 2025
  • Emailed applications (rita.riggs@wayne.k12.in.us) must be received by Friday, May 2, 2025 at 4:00 p.m.
• Notification of Decision: June 2025 (via mail)
• Once your application is accepted, you must complete all enrollment paperwork and have your child fully enrolled by mid-July 2025 (specific date will be in your acceptance letter). If enrollment is not completed by this deadline, your child's approved application may be voided, and their spot may be offered to another applicant.

What if we missed the Out of District enrollment deadline?
No applications will be accepted after the deadline. If you missed the application window for the upcoming school year, we encourage you to revisit our website next March to apply for the following school year.

We understand how busy family life can be, so we've created several easy ways for you to submit your application. Choose the option that works best for you:

Option 1: Online Application (Preferred Method)

• Upon submission, you will receive an email confirmation from forms-receipts-noreply@google.com
• Please check your spam folder for this confirmation email

Option 2: Email Submission

• Download the application form below
• Complete all required fields
• Email the completed application to rita.riggs@wayne.k12.in.us with "25/26 OODT" in the subject line

What if we missed the Out of District enrollment window?
If you missed the application window for the upcoming school year, we encourage you to revisit our website next March to apply for the following school year.

• One application must be completed per student. No applications will be accepted after the due date.
• Out of District Transfer acceptance is granted for one year only (July 1 to June 30)
• We do not provide bus service. Transportation to and from school must be provided by the parent/guardian.
• Beginning with the 2025 - 2026 school year, each of our K-12 schools will operate on a two-hour delay schedule each Monday to provide professional development for staff. Additionally, three full days of professional development will be added throughout the school year, and students will learn asynchronously. • A separate application is required for each child in the household.
• Important Enrollment Deadline: Once your application is accepted, you must complete all enrollment paperwork and have your child fully enrolled by mid-July 2025 (specific date will be in your acceptance letter). If enrollment is not completed by this deadline, your child's approved application may be voided, and their spot may be offered to another applicant.
• After an Out of District Transfer student has enrolled, a copy of the student's educational records will be requested (transcripts/grades, attendance, discipline, achievement/assessment test scores, IEP/special education records, etc.)

Elementary Schools

The following elementary schools are open for 2025-2026 Out-of-District Transfer students (approval depends on current enrollment at each building):

• Bridgeport Elementary
• Chapelwood Elementary
• Garden City Elementary
• Maplewood Elementary
• McClelland Elementary
• Rhoades Elementary
• Stout Field Elementary
• Westlake Elementary

The following elementary schools are only accepting currently attending out-of-district students:

• Chapel Glen Elementary
• North Wayne Elementary
• Robey Elementary

Secondary Schools

All secondary schools are open for 2025-2026 Out-of-District Transfer students (approval depends on current enrollment):

• Ben Davis Ninth Grade Center
• Ben Davis High School
• Ben Davis University High School
• Chapel Hill 7th & 8th Grade Center
• Lynhurst 7th & 8th Grade Center

1. Complete Application Process for each of your children by Friday, May 2, 2025
2. Wait for acceptance, conditional or denial letter from the Elementary/Secondary Assistant Superintendent in June
3. If accepted, you must complete all enrollment paperwork by the July deadline indicated in your acceptance letter. If a non-resident child is not enrolled by this date, the approved application may be voided, and your child's spot may be given to another applicant.

Applications may be denied if:

• The student has excessive absences
• The student has been suspended or expelled during the previous twelve (12) months for certain offenses
• There is insufficient space at the requested school
