Stout Field Elementary Receives Generous Scientech Grant for Robotics Program Enhancement
Stout Field Elementary is making waves in STEM education as the proud recipient of a grant from Scientech Foundation, which is earmarked for upgrades crucial to the school’s robotics program. This announcement is a testament to the school’s commitment to fostering innovation and excellence in STEM education.
The grant will specifically go towards the completion kit upgrade for mechanical and electrical components, encompassing essential updates such as the robot controller, brain, and battery. Additionally, it will support Project Lead the Way curriculum, enriching the learning experience for 5th graders at Stout Field Elementary.
Stout Field Elementary has been fortunate to receive the ScienceTech Foundation’s generous support over the years. In the 2022-2023 academic year, the foundation provided a grant of $7,980, further bolstering our STEM initiatives. This was preceded by a $25,000 grant in 2020, which played a pivotal role in enhancing our STEM and Science Labs. These funds were used to introduce 3D printing options for students and to procure furniture conducive to collaborative learning in science, computer science, and robotics. The continuity of the foundation’s support is a testament to their belief in our school’s vision and the effectiveness of our STEM programs.
Members of the Scientech Foundation recently presented a check to Tim Wickard, principal, and made a visit to Mr. Gilliam’s 5th-grade classroom. In a heartwarming display of appreciation, students were eager to showcase their robotics skills to their esteemed guests.
Stout Field Elementary’s dedication to providing STEM education opportunities reflects our commitment to preparing students for success in an increasingly technology-driven world. With the latest grant infusion, the school is poised to further elevate its robotics program, empowering students to explore, innovate, and excel.
