Wayne Township Hosts Kindergarten Enrollment Event Feb. 23–27

There's nothing quite like watching your child take those brave steps on their first day of kindergarten. The wide eyes. The backpack that seems almost too big. The mix of excitement and nerves that you, as a parent, feel just as much as they do.

Kindergarten enrollment for the 2026–2027 school year is open, and we'd love to meet you! Drop by anytime during our Kindergarten Enrollment Event — our friendly staff will be there to guide you through every step of the process.

Monday, Feb. 23 – Thursday, Feb. 26 | 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. 

Friday Feb. 27 | 7 a.m. – 11 a.m.

Enrolling early makes a real difference — it helps us plan staffing and resources so that when your child walks through those doors on the first day of school, everything is ready and waiting for them.

Is My Child Ready to Enroll?

To enroll in kindergarten for the 2026–2027 school year, your child must be five years old on or before August 1, 2026. Children enrolling in first grade must be six years old on or before August 1, 2026.

What to Bring

To complete enrollment, please bring the following:

• Child's birth certificate
• Immunization records
• Parent or guardian photo ID
• Proof of residency (2 documents required)
• Your child does not need to be present to enroll — but they are always welcome to come along for the excitement!

Interpreter Services Available

Families who speak a language other than English are welcome and encouraged to attend. Interpreters will be available in Spanish, Yoruba, Haitian Creole, and Tigrinya on Tuesday, Feb. 24, and Wednesday, Feb. 25. Spanish interpreters will also be available Monday, Thursday, and Friday afternoons. Wayne Township Schools is committed to making the enrollment process welcoming and accessible for every family in our community.
